San Diego Border Roleplay Vehicle Trading Guide
The August 29, 2026 Vehicle Trading update is the most significant feature drop for San Diego Border Roleplay since Boat Smuggling. It introduces a new currency called Gold Tickets, a dedicated Global Trading Terminal, vehicle favoriting, and a revamped secondary inspection area. This guide covers how to access the trading hub, earn Gold Nuggets through bank robberies, list your car, and avoid common trading scams.
What Vehicle Trading Adds
Vehicle trading lets players exchange vehicles through an in-game terminal interface using Gold Tickets — a new currency separate from standard in-game cash. Instead of selling vehicles for cash and buying new ones, you can trade directly with other players: swap a luxury car you never use for a bike that fits your smuggling route, or exchange a patrol SUV for a civilian truck that fits your cover story.
The update also adds vehicle favoriting so your most-used cars stay at the top of the spawner, an improved minimap with navigation waypoints, new apartment access controls including whitelist and blacklist, revamped secondary inspection area with scanners, cloudy weather and rain effects, and a police security camera tool.
How to Access the Trading Hub
Head down into the parking area. You will find a new section that teleports you to the Trading Hub. Once you arrive, stand on the green circle to view vehicles currently listed by other players. You can also use the Manage Listing option to remove your vehicle from the trading area.
To leave the hub, use the exit door or press the Exit button on the right side of the screen. You will be returned to the parking area where you entered.
Gold Tickets — The Trading Currency
Gold Tickets are the exclusive currency for vehicle trading. You cannot use standard in-game cash to purchase vehicles from other players — you need Gold Tickets. The main way to earn Gold Tickets is by collecting Gold Nuggets during bank robberies.
Gold Nuggets spawn in random positions around the bank during robbery events. Because their locations are not fixed, you will need to search different areas each time. There is also a bag capacity limit — if your bag is full, you cannot pick up additional nuggets. The number of nuggets per robbery can be low, especially with multiple players competing. Community testing shows roughly four Gold Nuggets per successful robbery run.
How to List Your Vehicle
Walk over to an available parking space in the trading hub. Select your vehicle and enter the number of Gold Tickets you want to receive for it. Once you confirm, your vehicle appears in the trading area for other players to purchase. When another player buys it, you receive the listed Gold Tickets directly.
Vehicles must be in your personal possession to list them. Team-assigned vehicles may have restrictions depending on the current patch rules — verify in-game before assuming a vehicle can be listed.
Selling Vehicles for Cash
The update also adds the ability to sell vehicles for a portion of their original purchase price. Community testing shows approximately 40–50% of the original price as the sell-back value. If you have vehicles sitting in your garage that you no longer use, selling them can recover some cash.
New Minimap and Navigation
The minimap received a major upgrade. It now shows landmarks, players moving around the map, navigation information, and directions toward selected locations. You can click the minimap to open the full map and select a destination. The game then provides turn-by-turn navigation while driving, and tells you when you have arrived. For a game with a large map, this is one of the most practically useful improvements in the update.
New Apartment Controls
When you enter your apartment, a new button appears in the top-right corner. Opening it brings up a management menu where you can see wanted level, warrants, apartment status, whitelisted players, blacklisted players, and players currently inside. You can now whitelist players so they can open and close your apartment doors without you — useful for regular roleplay partners. Blacklist and kick options let you remove unwanted visitors. The Despawn Apartment option unclaims your property, though you cannot have a wanted level when using it.
Secondary Inspection Area Rework
The secondary inspection area received a visual and functional revamp. Instead of the older setup, you now walk through a new entrance, move through updated inspection corridors with new scanners, and exit through a new exit point. One important warning: using the wrong exit may give you a one-star wanted level, so pay attention when leaving the area.
Police Security Camera Tool
Police players receive a new camera tool that lets you view online security cameras around the map. You can cycle between different cameras and check various locations without physically driving there. This is particularly useful for monitoring checkpoint activity, suspicious civilian locations, and coordinating patrol coverage without leaving your post.
Trading Tips
Check the terminal before buying a vehicle from the in-game store — another player may be trading the same model for fewer Gold Tickets, or offering a variant with different performance specs. Match trades to your roleplay narrative. A luxury car opens different scenarios than a cargo truck. Use trading to build the vehicle roster that fits your preferred playstyle.
Scam Prevention
Only trade through the official in-game terminal. Any player who proposes a trade outside the system — through chat, external messages, or third-party platforms — is attempting a scam. Verify the vehicle listed matches what you receive before confirming the trade. Report fraudulent traders through the in-game moderation tools.
